Julie Weber Obituary

WEBER, JULIE MARIE, 29, lost her fight against cancer on April 22, 2008. She was born September 3, 1978 in Tifton, GA but spent most of her life in Longwood, attending Longwood Elementary, Greenwood Lakes Middle, and Lake Mary High - Class of 1996. She was involved in LMHS soccer and played on other club teams in the area. She attended the University of North Florida, where she played soccer and graduated with a degree in Business. She continued to live in Jacksonville and worked as an office manager for the remainder of her life, until her illness brought her back to her family in Longwood. She is loved and will always be remembered by her parents, Carolyn and Norman Weber; her big sister, Jennifer and husband Eric Hertl; her little sister, Allison Weber; and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who faced this battle alongside her. The wake will be held on Friday, April 25, at 6PM at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 575 Tuskawilla Rd. in Winter Springs, FL 32708. The funeral mass will be Saturday, April 26, at the same location at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, her family wishes that donations be made in her name to Hospice of the Comforter, where friends and family members gathered in a cozy room to share stories, laugh, cry, sing songs, and say prayers while Julie listened and became our angel. to my big sis...how i miss you dearly.

not a minute has gone by that i haven't thought about you and the many memories that we have shared. i am so lucky to have had a chance to look up to a wonderful and amazing person. you had such an influence on me and there were many times that i did things just to be like you!! i know that you are in a better place now, looking down on us, but right now i want to be selfish and have you here, laying next to me, holding my hand and telling me that everything is going to be ok. you are a very strong woman and i hope that one day i can be just as strong. god brought both of us back home and i am so lucky to have had the chance to spend the last year living with you again. it finally gave me the opportunity to take care of you, just like you took care of me growing up. i will continue to look up to you and hope that one day i can impact many different people the way you have. it was amazing to see the amount of people that came tonight in order to say goodbye to someone who is so special.

i love you julie marie, more than ever.

Your soccer family at UCF sends its love and prayers. The Weber family's love for each other is such a treasure. Julie fought the good fight and she did it with the love and support of all her family and friends. That was so evident Julie's last night at hospice. What an incredible woman she was and will always be in our hearts. Love, Amanda

I was a teammate of Julie's at UNF. We all came in together the same first year of the program. And while 30 girls on one team can cause a lot of drama, Julie was the one who was always friends with everyone. She was always smiling, always positive, and always making sure we stayed that way. A wonderful person has left us too soon.

Julie has touched so many people in her life. I was one of them. I have known Julie for 2 1/2 years, but it seems like yesterday when we first met. The time has gone by so quickly. Along with others, I will never forget her bright smile, spunky attitude, and warm heart. Julie- While you walk with the Lord, know you will always be in my thoughts. Until we meet again......

Julie was at one time a rival of mine, then a teammate of mine, but always a friend of mine.

I will miss her courage and strength, her positive attitude, and most of all her smile.

Jules - you are missed more then you can ever imagine right now but we will all get through this together. Thanks for being such a good friend back in our college days.

Love,
Stephanie

Dear Webers,
I want you all to know just how very sorry I am, but I also know how very blessed we all were to have a daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter and friend like Julie. As you have seen in the hundreds of posts on her care page over the last year, she touched many lives. From the moment I met her (way back in 96), I was immediately drawn to her warming smile and her sweet disposition.

I first got to know Julie as the Assistant Soccer Coach at UNF with Rod Kenny. Funny thing is, I knew nothing about soccer. Julie and I would sit together on the travel bus and chat the entire way. As we got older our friendship grew into a lasting one. No matter how much time had passed since we had spoken, we would always pick up right where we left off. But I think that was Julie in a nutshell. Always there as friend no matter where life had taken us.

My heart goes out to your entire family.

Julie my dear friend, I will miss you!

Love you, Jules. You're big sister is awfully proud of you and already misses you terribly. I hope that everything I believe about heaven is true...if so, I'd be honored if you'd spend the rest of my life walking alongside of me. I am so glad that I was able to make it home to stay by your bedside those last hours we had together. I know you are not alone...and it gives me comfort to know that I will never be alone again as well. Love you, my angel.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
