Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for the whole family. As a mother of a Firefighter who raised a son alone as a widow at 27 I know how hard this is going to be for Megan. You know it takes a Village to raise children - I know Megan is going to get the continued support she needs from the community and the Police and Fire Dept. God bless you Megan your boys and family.

After listening to Kevin´s squad mates, I feel I would have loved to work with him in my old southwest sector also known as Echo. Midnight shift would never ever be dull. It breaks my heart that Kevin is not able to chase bad guys for he was obviously meant to protect and serve. Keep your squad safe and protect them from harm. Watch over your brothers and sisters. I am so sorry for our loss.

I didn't know Officer Kevin Valencia but I live in Central Florida followed the news about him from the day of the tragic incident when he was injured to the present. It broke my heart the day he was needlessly shot 3 years ago in the line of duty. I thought about and prayed for him and his family often. I pray God will now give his boys and his wife the strength to carry on without him, knowing he's in Heaven with no more pain or struggles. One day they will see him again in Heaven, and he will always be in their hearts. He was a wonderful person, police officer, and hero in every sense of that word!

I have followed Officer Valencia's progress since the evening the tragedy happened, as my daughter is the wife of an officer who responded to this incident. There are so many police families lifting you up, Mrs. Valencia, even beyond the Orlando community. I hope you and your children, as well as your/his family, feel this love and support, and that it helps you continue to be strong in your faith and gives you courage to carry on. With heart-felt appreciation and respect for Officer Valencia's service and deepest sympathy to Mrs. Valencia and family...

I discovered Officer Valencia´s obit while searching for a friend´s obit. While I never had the privilege of knowing Officer Valencia or his family, I extend Heartfelt sympathy to his wife, two sons, and other Loved Ones.
I salute and thank Officer Valencia for bravely and honorably serving his country and his local police force. It´s a very sad ending for him and his Loved Ones who stood by him during three+ years of injury recovery efforts.

I did not know Kevin but I feel like I do I am a retired deputy sheriff from orange co. and my husband is a retired Lt. with the Orlando police dept. this was one of my fears when my husband was on the dept. you never knew when you would get one of those calls. Kevin was so lucky to have the support of the dept. and from friends and his family my heart goes out to his wife and little boys. God bless all of you and just think this birthday Kevin will be having a big party with Jesus and all of the fallen police officers that has gone before him. you all will stay in my prayers.; Sid and Judy Bourgeois
