One of the few people I've met who can truly sympathize with any one's situation. I only had a couple great days with him scattered throughout the last year. Despite the lack of time with Devin, it was easy to treat Devin as a best friend because he treated me that way first.

Devin, I never really got to know you very well, but I'll always remember the first time you and your family came camping with The Mighty Kiowa a couple of years ago at Cornfest. You were keenly interested in the bonfire that we were going to have on Saturday night, and you were the first one to join me in the council ring to build it, and you were front row that night to watch it! Miles family, My thoughts and prayers are with you constantly. The only helpful words are God's reassurance and word. I picked a verse that gave me comfort during the loss of a loved one and hopefully it brings you some type of peace also. My peace was that I would be with them again one day.

Our family knew Devin through our son Chris. Many days he breezed through the front door with Chris. Instead of going directly upstairs like all the others, Devin came into the family room to say hello and talk with my husband and me. What a sweetheart, and beautiful person. We are going to miss him, and our prays go out to his family. God has a plan even though we don't understand.

My Dearest Devin will Always remain in my heart with such warm feelings and love. Aloras wedding had Devin and I dancing and having a great time together! We laughed and laughed when he got behind me and did some hysterical moves and next thing .... he smacked me in the butt ! Everyone around us just laughed and laughed ! Devin was so comical .... sometimes he didn't even know it - he was a natural at making people laugh and feel special. I shall surely miss my oldest grandson ... He was a pleasure and just always hilarious ! Then he could be so sincere and gentle and be so concerned .... I miss him so much. I wish you guys lived closer to me when Devin and Alora were growin up so I could of really have spent more time with my special grandson. I have beautiful memories and I know when he comes back through the promised resurrection, we will again laugh and laugh and I am gonna dance and dance and dance with my partner ... and when he least expects it I will smack his Butt as a payback ! ! ! Devin called me his Mama Cita - I will miss him calling me that - I love my Devin and eagerly await a big hug and kiss from Devin once again .....

I dont even know where to begin im at a loss for words just even thinking that your not here anymore makes me sick to my stomach. I know we didnt see each other for awhile but our talks are something I will cherish forever. You always made me laugh or smile in my worst moments. I remember the first time I met you lol its was the funniest moment of my life and I will never forget it and ever since then its been one hell of a friendship. All our memories are what playback in my head everyday. Like the time you let me drive your jeep home lol me freaking out and you telling me how good of a job I was doing to calm me down. Or the time I was folding your clean clothes and you had to make sure I knew how you liked them to be folded. These times I wish I didnt take for granted. Ill miss your smile, your laugh and the way you just always wanted to have a good time and be happy. God has gained someone more special then he even knows. Ill miss our deep conversations the most they were the best and no one could ever take those away from me. Your always going to be the best. As I woke up Monday morning and was hit with the news of Devin passing away all I could think about was how precious life was. Here was a bright young man who enjoyed life to the fullest and wanted other people to enjoy life as much as he did. He continually had a smile on his face, no matter the circumstance. I can remember during football, Langdon would be all over Devin for doing something and he would be just standing there with a big smile on his face. No matter the circumstance he was going to enjoy life.
But, as I thought about how precious life was I wasn't thinking about it in context of how it was taken away, but how it has been given to us! We have been given our life to live and to do what God has called us to do and the fact we have been given life is so very precious. Everything I know about Devin says he lived his life to the fullest and was accomplishing great things with what he was given. I pray that people remember this awesome young man and realize that life is precious because we have been given life and we have been called to accomplish great things. I also pray for peace that passes all understanding floods the Miles' home and that God's faithfulness surrounds their family.

I know it's been a couple of years since we've talked, but I want you to know how much you will be missed by your classmates. If I could think of one word to describe you, I'd say that word was fearless. You were never afraid to act boldly, to reach out to those considered "outcasts," or to do something outrageous to make someone smile. You weren't afraid of what others thought of you, and I think that's one of the best types of brave one can be. It's hard to imagine that you won't be at any of our class reunions, telling jokes or spreading those infectious smiles. I simply can't imagine high school without you. I'm sorry I can't be there on Saturday to celebrate your life, but know that you touched a lot of lives in your 21 years.

One of my favorite memories was on the Costa Rica senior trip. Devin took my ring and pretended to propose to me. We were inseparable and promised each other if we didn't get married by the age of 30 we would just marry each other. Another great memory was for my 18th birthday he bought me the Justin Bieber CD so we drove around in my car singing "One time". We sang to the top of our lungs. I sure do love that boy. He did so much for me and I don't know what I would have done without him. Our relationship was priceless and it has impacted my life forever. Forever and always best friends to my goofball, Devin. One Sweet, Funny Memory about my precious friend Devin Miles:
One day after school during senior year, Devin and I were hanging out by the lockers upstairs. He was whistling and singing as usual. He said we should go into Mr. Bratton's room. I asked why and he said just go!!! lol so we went inside, then he turned, locked the door and said, "YES WE ARE ALONE NOW YOU CAN KISS ME!" I laughed, pushed him out of the way to get to the door, and we ran laughing all the way down the stairs.
