Myrtle Elizabeth Otey Finn Wszalek

Myrtle Elizabeth Otey Finn Wszalek, 82, of Winston-Salem, and formerly of Pulaski, Va., passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Born Oct. 22, 1923, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of Harry Otey and Lena Spauldin Otey Woolwine. Her infant son, David Wayne Finn; her first husband, Elbert Early Finn; her second husband, Henry S. Wszalek; and two brothers, June Spauldin and Harry Jack Otey, also preceded her in death. She was a former employee of Paul Knitting Mills and Virginia Maid Hosiery Mills. She retired in May 2005 from Experienced Works, where she had been employed for 11 years at New River Valley Community Action. Surviving are her son, Michael Lee Finn, 4826 Tiffany Ave., Winston-Salem; special friend Randal W. Ferguson of Winston-Salem; many nieces and nephews; and much loved cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Pulaski. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, May 18, at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.
