I have just learned of Paul's passing almost a year later from an email planning our 40th high school reunion. I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He was such a gentle soul, and I remember him and Katie well from Trinity time together. My sympathy to the family.

Sometimes when you search for old friends online you sadly find out they're gone. Paul and I were Star Trek buddies back in the late 60s. I felt he was my best friend for a while until we moved to Jacksonville, my life got more complicated, and we lost touch. I saw him again in 1972 in Tallahassee, and then again sometime in the 90s in Orlando.
I can remember going to the movies in Leesburg (35cents), swimming in the middle of the night, and his cat Napoleon. Very fond memories. He was always just a little smarter than I, a lot better swimmer, and he loved the air conditioner turned to beer-cooler. We both totally loved Spock.
I'll miss him even more now that he's gone.
My best wishes to Thomas, and the rest of Paul's loved ones.

If we are very fortunate, at some time in our lives we will meet a person like Paul. And if we are truly blessed we will be able to call that person our friend. I knew Paul for over twelve years and I cherish our time together. He was a true gentleman and a kind soul. His wry sense of humor and keen observations were never cruel or demeaning and in all the years I knew him I never heard him utter even the mildest profanity. He made me laugh and think and often prompted me to reconsider my opinions. And for all his talk of bringing people over to the "dark" side, he brought light to all the lives he touched. He was my friend and I will miss him.
