Steven Clark Obituary

SIMSBURY - Steven Randall "Randy" Clark, 53, of Hopmeadow Street, Weatogue, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at his home with his mother and father by his side. He was born Jan. 9, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconson, son of William H. and Mary Jo (Ferguson) Clark of Simsbury.
The family moved to Chicago when Randy was in grade school. He went on as a young man to travel extensively through the South and West before returning to Chicago. When the family moved East to Connecticut, Randy followed and eventually became employed as the Building Supervisor at The Meadows Apartment complex in Weatogue where he remained for the last seventeen years. He loved riding his Harley and working tirelessly on his motorcycles and cars. He enjoyed daily walks with his dogs, fishing and travel, especially to Colorado and Florida.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Vincent Sica of South Windsor; his brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Renee Clark of Millis, Massachusetts; his five nieces and nephews, Joseph, Sara, Alec, Hailey and Zachary; and his beloved black lab Gypsy. He leaves behind many near and dear friends and fond memories of his two dogs Hobo and Tramp.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jessica Clement and the staff at the UConn Cancer Center for their compassionate care.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Friday, Jan. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 7, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Kevin L. Weikel officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the University of Connecticut Carole and Ray Neag Cancer Center, payable to The University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc., 10 Talcott Notch Road, Suite 100, Farmington, CT 06032. I guess I'm late to the party with my condolences to the Clark family. When I was in Simsbury Randy 'Slick' and Mike were brothers. Scott you were in the same category. The Idea Mike and Randy are first to go to the better place is their reward for being the kind and loving MEN is what they deserve. I moved away long ago and lost contact but never lost heart to the men who were the family for a 17 year old kid who left home but got by with a little help from my friends. No telling from where I sit what ever was JD's (Randy's long term friend) fate but knowing would be nice. To the Clark's and Scott. I loved your brother and mike and the few other true friends that will never be forgotten even after all this time. My turn is not far off and then I'll be clanking a bottle over a game of pool and maybe a little brawl for cheap 70's style thrills. My hearts out to you all and God bless, Robert Moffat. I will miss Randy more than I can say. He was my husband's best friend in the world and now I have lost both of them. His love for his dogs and motorcycles gave him so much pleasure. But I know both Michael and Randy are up their with their dogs Zeus and Hobo smiling. I am heartbroken and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Clark family. I know the loss they are feeling. See you around Slick.

I love my Uncle Randy very much, and will never forget him. I remember when I was little and me and my cousin Sara would put his hair in pig tails. Or when he came to help my dad build our house and let me sit on his Harley. He took such good care of his dogs Hobo, Trampy, and Gypsy. Uncle Randy will remain in my thoughts forever. -Hailey

Dear Clark Family, My husband and I were very sad to hear of your loss of Randy. We lived at the Meadows Apartment for a few years (1998-2000) where he was superintendent. He was so full of life, loved the outdoors and truly loved his dogs, Trampy and Hobo. I will always remember him calling the dogs and working on his motorcycle/cars always with many friends surrounding him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Aunt Jo, Uncle Bill, Kelly and Scott,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can still remember being in Randy and Scotts room on Larch drive and the bunk beds breaking when we were all jumping on them. I also remember making concoctions up with anything that was left on the table and seeing who would drink it. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
