Timothy Herring

1941 - 2018

Reverend Deems "Tim" Timothy Herring (1941-2018) ended a fierce, fifteen-month long battle with cancer, on April 5, at Orlando Regional Medical Center Cornerstone Hospice surrounded by his wife, children, and Pomeranian. A beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, brother, and friend, Rev. Tim touched so many lives through his ministries. Nothing brought him more joy than bringing two people together through the sanctity of marriage. He was born and reared in Lakeland, Florida, April 25 1941. An Eagle Scout, in his youth, he was active in Boy Scouts of America, and, in the life Southside Baptist church in Lakeland, FL. At Lakeland High School he was a drummer in the band. He lost his father to cancer, originally of Clinton, North Carolina, Deems Nicholson Herring, during his early college years, and, is also preceded in death by his mother Mary Magdaline Herring, originally of Tennessee. Following his preliminary education matriculation, he continued at Georgetown College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1963, and, obtained Masters degrees in Business and Religion. He also attended the Moody Bible Institute and became an ordained Baptist Minister. He served as a minister in a variety of churches in his earliest career as a young minister. In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he enjoyed an early career as a stock broker with Smith Barney and Merrell Lynch where he met his then, young wife, Ms. Jenny Lynn Paul, originally of Wilmington, North Carolina, also a stock broker. They had their first child together in Winston-Salem and moved to Orlando, Florida and raised a family together. Reverend Tim Herring is well-known in the Orlando area for performing the very first wedding at Walt Disney World, for being the first official wedding officiant at Walt Disney World Fairy Tale Weddings, and for being the owner of A Beautiful Wedding. For over 30 years Reverend Tim has served as a Minister on Call to Walt Disney World and the Orlando area. Reverend Tim Herring is survived by a large family and extended family in both Florida and North Carolina. Wife, Lynn Paul Herring, Brother, The Very Honorable Ronald Herring (Gail), Sister, Joyce Paul (Bill), daughter, Tammy Sue Pell (Charles), granddaughter Kathryn, grandson, Jonathan, Anna Michelle Lane Swanson (1968-2018) (JP), granddaughters, Katlyn and Olivia, daughter, Deborah Ann Herring (Thomas), daughter, Jenny Lynn Herring, granddaughter, Zoe, daughter, Kimberly Nicole Herring, and, sons, John-Paul Nicholson Herring, Deems Timothy Herring, II, David Allen Herring, Pomeranian, Tucker. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Paradise Cove at 13245 Lake Bryan Drive Orlando, Florida on April 26 at 9:30am.
