Alice Mikusko Obituary

Alice T. (Brady) Mikusko of Marshall, Mich., died peacefully and with family by her side, May 14, 2017. She was born April 13, 1927, in St. Charles, to James Brady and Sarah MacDonald Brady.

She married Edward J. Mikusko, May 11, 1946, and they were divorced in 1981. She married Arnold S. Arquette, June 22, 2002, and he survives her.

She is also survived by her four children, Patrick Mikusko of Kalamazoo, Susan (John) Brundage of Marshall, M. Brady Mikusko (Ernest Young) of Ann Arbor, Kate (Michael) Perrazoli of Lancaster, Pa.; her stepchildren, Joellen (Fred) Gillette of Marshall and Paul (Rebecca) Arquette of Marshall. Her oldest son, Michael J. Kelly, preceded her in death.

She was a proud grandmother to Peter Brundage (Jess), Sarah Falzone (Robert), Ian Mikusko and Brigit Kelly Young (Johnathan Todd Ross); and great-grandmother to Lily Aila Falzone, Quinn Gabriel Falzone, Simone Elise Ross-Young and Isaiah Daniel Brundage.

Alice wishes to be remembered as a person who lived a full and fun life and was a devoted wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Being Irish, she was quite the storyteller, and her children and grandchildren can and will recount the funny, entertaining and often morbid stories for many years to come. Her family will also always remember the candles she lit when they were traveling.

She enjoyed politics, religion, yard work, sewing, cooking, reading, cleaning house (especially dusting), Pavarotti and rescuing stray cats. Oh, and mashed potatoes with gravy, and margaritas!

Alice was particularly proud of her Celtic heritage being half Irish and half Scottish. She also relished being a devoted Democrat and would like to go on record as NOT having voted for Trump.

Alice had a life-long interest in such groups as the Sierra Club, Amnesty International and the Humane Society. She was also very concerned about the current refugee problem that has arisen in these last few years worldwide.

Alice donated her body to the University of Michigan Medical School for research purposes, and no funeral services will take place. A family memorial dinner will occur at a later date.

Donations to your local Humane Society, the Calhoun County Animal Shelter in Battle Creek, Amnesty International or your local domestic violence shelter would be welcomed by Alice from above.

Arrangements are entrusted to J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, 49224
