Billy Padgett Obituary

Billy Lee Padgett, 64, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 in Samaipata, Bolivia, where he retired nine years ago. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Ill., May 2, 1948, to Bill and Doris Padgett.

Billy was an accomplished actor, having appeared in off-Broadway shows in New York City, multiple runs at the George Street Playhouse with many national tours under his belt. Billy appeared in many television shows as well, most notable are As the World Turns, All My Children, 321 Contact and Sesame Street. He was a member of Actors Equity Co., a former company member of Second City in Chicago and was a member of The Players in NYC.

Billy is survived by his former wife, Pennye of Midland; daughters, Kristy Padgett of Seattle, Wash. and Val Padgett of Midland; brother, Ron Mullins of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; several nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He will be remembered for his gift of laughter and expertise in improvisational comedy.
