Donald Lee Glasgow, 81, passed away at home in Garner, North Carolina on February 14, 2023.
Don was born on January 11, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to Donald K Glasgow and Mildred Smekar Glasgow. A member of Saint Brigid of Kildare parish, he was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his siblings: Thomas K Glasgow (Ruth), Rocky River, Ohio; William J Glasgow (Denys Lundberg), Charlevoix, MI; Mary F Davis, Essexville, MI; Ann Van Tiflin, Garner, NC; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews related and acquired.
Don graduated from Midland High School in 1960 and received a BS from Ferris State University and MBA from Central Michigan University. However his business career started much earlier.
Always the entrepreneur, Don started a family vegetable stand while still in elementary school. The stand aided all the siblings as they entered college. He is fondly remembered as the friendly young clerk at Lanning's store. A former customer mentioned how patient he was waiting for them to decide how to spend their pocket change on candy. After college he worked at Harrison Piping Supply and for Devries Realty as well as managing his rental properties,. He greatly enjoyed finding budget appropriate homes for his clients.
Don's many hobbies included gardening, painting, travel, collecting cookbooks, and bargain shopping. To honor his memory, nothing would please him more than for his friends and family to share a homemade treat with a younger person.
