Donna Mason Obituary

Donna Mason
A remarkable, woman whose strength of character and faith in her God allowed her to both live in and leave this world as an example to one, and a testament to the others, passed away peacefully August 3, 2025. As she often said she looked forward to joining her husband of 58 years, Jack D Mason, who passed in 2010, and their daughter, Denise (Deede) Mason who passed in 1983, together in heaven. Donna Marie Mason born on May 21, 1934 was preceded by her parents, Margaret (Schafer) and Edward McLean; brother, Bruce McLean; and survived by sister, Joyce O'Connell. Donna and Jack married August 9, 1952 and were the parents to Sherry (Patrick) Max, Patrick passed in 2024, Douglas (Rebecca "Kita") Mason, James (Celeste) Mason, and Denise Mason. Donna leaves her 40 plus living descendants with the example of what a God fearing, family first woman looks like and its perpetual benefits. She never allowed tribulation or hard times to claim her as a victim but spoke of her life, its inevitable trials and tribulations, joys and wonders as evidence of Gods grateful abundance. Her cup she said "was overflowing" with gratitude. She was a loving grandmother of Chris (Christine) Max, Ryan (Megan) Max, Mickey (Kelli) Mason, Ben (Brooke) Mason, Deirdre (Shane) Van Liere, Jack (Hayley) Mason, and Tara (Mike) Madden. She was a great-grandmother to 21 great-grandchildren.
There will be a funeral Mass October 18, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Midland, Michigan. More information to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Centrica Care Navigators, Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. Please share memories with her family at www.langelands.com.
