James Kiesel Obituary

James F. Kiesel
James F. Kiesel, 73, of Midland, died Wednesday morning, April 12, 2023, at MyMichigan Health Midland, after a brief illness.
He was born and raised on the family farm on Flajole Road. He resided there his entire life as he turned the family farm into his lifelong career.
On Oct. 17, 2003, he married the love of his life Linda; she survives him.
Jim, an avid John Deere enthusiast, loved spending time with his many beloved great nieces and nephews.
In retirement, Jim enjoyed working with cattle, raising chickens and turkeys for local families at Thanksgiving and selling farm fresh eggs. He also took pride in his garden and apple orchard, sharing his abundant harvest with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Linda; his sisters Sharon Histed and Susan (Randel) Ridgway, all of Midland. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces: Chris (April), Chad (Amy), Michelle (Gary), Jeff (Sarah), Jennifer (Jesse), Jason (Shelley), Stacy (Jesse) and Brandon. He also is survived by his step-son Adam (Megan) Trumble; and many close neighborhood friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Wayne; his parents Lawrence and Lila; and brother-in-law Mick Histed.
Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Monday with visit an hour before at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 3516 E. Monroe Road, with Father Adam Maher presiding.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to donate in Jim's name to the Bay County 4-H. Donations can be sent to Bay County Office: MSU Extension, 515 Center Ave. Suite G-102, Bay City, MI, 48708.
