Julie Shangle Obituary

Julie Shangle
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family matriarch, Julie Shangle, of Mesa, Arizona, who was called to Heaven on June 17, 2024. She was 62 years young.
Anyone who knew Julie knows she was more than just a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend; she was a force and beam of light to all she crossed paths with. She dedicated her life to her family and grandchildren, as well as to helping and empowering others to heal and live the best versions of themselves they could be. Her unwavering kindness, gentle wisdom, and boundless compassion touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born in Midland, Michigan, to Patricia and Jack Harnick, Julie cherished her roots and instilled deep family values and traditions into all of us. Julie graduated from Midland High in 1980 and worked at Dow Corning Corporation where she met her soul mate and husband Kirk. They were married on May 6, 1983 and recently celebrated 41 beautiful years of marriage.
Julie enjoyed sharing her love of jewelry through her businesses and used her vast platforms to coach women nationwide to achieve their personal goals and become leaders. She has been presented a multitude of awards and recognized for women's empowerment, leadership, performance, and featured in many prestigious publications. During her five year battle with neuroendocrine cancer, she also started a "Hope" crusade for fellow cancer patients, giving them hope through a hug, a prayer and a "hope" necklace reminding them to never give up their fight.
Julie was immensely talented in many different ways, including drawing, painting, cooking, and was a prolific writer. Her art is now featured in many places across the Phoenix valley as she created custom pieces for friends, family, fans and clients.
Julie's sense of humor was contagious. Memories of her antics bring smiles to many of her friends and loved ones; hundreds of stories and photos have been shared of the hilarious experiences so many people have shared with her.
She was a beautiful, incredible soul, and left an imprint on everyone that knew her, especially her granddaughter, Brylee. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and gave her the will to fight the good fight until the very end.
She is survived by her husband, Kirk Shangle, her son Cameron (Brandy), stepson Gabe Shangle, and four grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, John Harnick, Jan (Joe) Lincoln, Karen (Michael) Sharpe, Theresa (Tom) Spann, Mary
Kay (Don) Asch, Jim Harnick and sister-in-law Vicki Harnick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kurt Harnick and sister-in-law Susan Harnick.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who provided exceptional care and compassion during her final days.
A celebration of Julie's life will be announced in the forthcoming days. At that time we will ask that you please join us in honoring her memory and sharing stories of her remarkable life.
Forever in our hearts,
Kirk, Cameron, Brandy & Family

I still remember the first time I met Julie like it was yesterday. Julie was following Cam in his little diaper down the sidewalk in front of our house. I was new to the neighborhood and Julie greeted me with a smile. My memories of Julie consist of laughter, practical jokes, inspiration, kindness, and love. Julie is one of the most positive and courageous individuals that I´ve met. Julie will be so missed but I feel so blessed that I had her in my life for over 30 years. I will cherish our memories forever. My deepest condolences to Kirk, Cam, Brandy and Family.

Julie was an exceptional person who always put you first, no matter how she was feeling. She married my cousin Kirk and always was so cheerful and made you laugh. You could tell her anything and I she always had a listening ear with no judgement. I loved her faith in the Lord and her ability to put into words how she was feeling. She is greatly missed by many. My condolences to her family, children and Kirk. Know that she is pain free and rejoicing with the Lord. May that give you some peace.
Love Becky Jo

It seems like forever that I have known Julie, from her being Steve´s little sister, to working at DC with her and Kirk, to time up on Wixom where she spent much time at her Father-in-laws cottage next to mine! So sorry Kirk and family for the loss of such a wonderful soul

I never met Julie personally. I knew her thru my sister in law who was Julie´s sister. Such a joy to speak with her. Her faith in God was awesome. Julie was an inspiration to me and others as she never failed to speak of her Lord and her faith. Without a doubt she had bad days but she never let on that she did. Julie was an outstanding sales lady!
I miss chatting with her and I know she will be missed by everyone.
My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. Sending love and prayers
