Paula Kathryn Braley, 81 of Midland, died Wednesday morning, May 19, 2021 at Cascades Senior Living Center in Midland. She was born November 4, 1939 in Midland, the daughter of the late Douglas and Bernice (Engwis) Craig. Paula was a graduate of Midland High School and had been employed at Birch Park Apartments in Saginaw for many years, where she found housing for many low-income families. She loved and was deeply loved by her family and always enjoyed spending time at all family gatherings. Paula enjoyed camping, playing bingo, and trips to the casino.
She is survived by her daughters: Linda Randall, and Shelly Billsbrough, and son Royal Braley, Jr. all of Midland; grandchildren: Adam (Nikki) Vanderhoef of Marion, Chad Braley of Leroy, Rachel (Jacob) Schoch of Evart, Kristine Hamilton of Leroy, Bobby Vanas of Lake City, Whitney (Tommy) Billsbrough-Kelp of Marion, Holly (Ross) Murray of Leroy, Steven Thompson of Marion, Brandon (Grace) Thompson of Temple; twenty-one great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; her life partner Royal Braley, Sr. of Midland, and her special friend: June Leddy of Saginaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Cameron Wayne Herron and by her sister Judith Pressnell.
Funeral services for Paula will take place 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Chaplain Don Bennett will officiate with interment to follow in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Paula's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family of Paula Braley.
