Phyllis Ann Neubauer

Phyllis Ann Neubauer of Midland, Michigan, and formerly of Muncie, Indiana, died on Saturday, March 28, 2026, under the watchful eyes from the care staff at Colonial Villa. Phyllis was born on January 18, 1938, in Newcastle, Indiana; one of three children of Millard and Edna (Ferrell) Madison.

Phyllis earned her nursing degree through Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, and worked there for many years until her retirement. Phyllis was married twice, the first to the father of her children, Donald Herbert and second to Joseph Neubauer. Both preceded her in death.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter Janice Burnett; her sons, Bob Herbert (Joan), David Herbert (Donna), and Gary Herbert; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Linda Madison.

Besides her husbands and parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her son Donnie Herbert and her brothers, Ronnie Madison and Robert Madison.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and Phyllis will be placed with her husband, Joseph Neubauer in Indiana.

The family would like to thank all of Phyllis' caregivers at MyMichigan Health that provided excellent, coordinated care for her over the past two years, especially Gabrielle Newton PA and her MA John, Tiffany Sito MSN, the pharmacists at the anticoagulation clinic Laura, Motley and Ryan and her homecare nurse, Misty.
