Richard Boynton
Richard Lee Boynton, 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 at Brookdale Senior Living in Midland, MI. Richard was born on August 16th, 1929 in Royal Oak, MI to Lee Wirt Boynton and Grace F (Hagstrom) Boynton. He married Garnet May Case on April 4th, 1953.
Richard was a member of the Sanford American Legion Color Guard, an avid supporter of Berryhill American Legion baseball. He enjoyed all kinds of sports with his favorites being Nascar, softball and baseball. Richard enjoyed playing cards, riding motorcycles and watching his grand children's sporting events. He proudly served in the Korean war.
Richard is survived by his children; James (Linda) Boynton, Randy (Robyn) Boynton, Gloria Boynton. Grandchildren; James Boynton, Lindsay (James) Dunstan, Steve Gorham, Misty (Charles) Chapin, Rachel Boynton, Rebecca (Kevin) Maupin. Great grandchildren; Jillian and Jacquline Boynton, David and Adam Dykema, Gage and Hannah Chapin, Lochlan and Torren Maupin.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Garnet; Son Steven Boynton, son-in-law Tom Gorham.
Cremation has taken place per Richard's wishes. A graveside service with military honors will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Senior Living of Midland and Americans Home Health & Hospice Care for their loving care of Richard.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Midland American Legion Baseball.
