Steven Gayle Davis passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Esther (Zitka) Davis. He was born in Midland, Michigan, on November 18, 1952. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy (Nowak) Davis and his three children, Sarah, Paul (Samantha) Davis, and Mary (Kevin) Birkholz. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren whom he adored spending time with.
Steven graduated from H.H. Dow High School in 1971, worked for the city of Midland for 28 years and retired in 2005. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors and could be found snowmobiling in the winter and salmon fishing in the summer. He was a talented mechanic and enjoyed restoring his 1939 Ford. He could fix everything and was always willing to help his friends and family.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Rite of Committal to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Steve's family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street, on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until time of the Liturgy.
