BENTON - Jackie D. Logsdon, 74 of Benton, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Clinton Place in Clinton.
Jackie was a member of Rosebower Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was a man of faith who enjoyed spending time studying his Bible and strengthening his love for God. He enjoyed fishing and going on fishing trips with friends and family. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and University of Kentucky Wildcats, and this led to his collecting of sports memorabilia. Jackie retired after 30+ years at USEC and 5+ years for Pennyrile Allied Community Services, where he was dedicated to helping teach others about healthy living, eating & nutrition. He loved his cats, especially "George" & "Cooter/Cujo", working outside in the yard or tinkering in the garage. He could also be found inside watching westerns or "The Andy Griffith Show."
He is survived by his two children, Tracy (John) Wells of Paducah and Mackenzie (Laura) Logsdon of Benton; four grandchildren, Hailey (Adam) Cardin of Paducah, Kylie (Caleb) Kindred of Paducah, Gabi Logsdon of Benton and Jack Logsdon of Benton; two great-grandchildren, Asher Cardin and Isla Cardin; two siblings, Betty Brown of College Station, Texas, and Tim Logsdon; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford P. & Dora Brown Logsdon; his wife, Linda R. Stout Logsdon; a great-grandchild, Tatum Kindred; a brother, Larry Logsdon; and a brother-in-law, John Brown.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jason L. Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wickliffe. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
