Ray C. Warmath, 92, of Mayfield, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
He was a member of Seven Oaks Church of Christ and a former deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a graduate and All Purchase Basketball star player at Sedalia High School. He was also the first principal at Mayfield Middle School and a long-time coach of boys and girls basketball, golf and softball. Mr. Warmath was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and past president of Kentucky Middle School Education Association. He was the retired owner and operator of Warmath Produce.
Mr. Warmath is survived by one son, Randy (Judy) Warmath of Paducah; two daughters, Jamie Warmath (Joel) Crider of Melber, and Beth Warmath Hicks of Mayfield; nine grandchildren, Ashley Crider (Coye) Elliott, Aaron (Amy) Warmath, Joey (Heather) Crider, Andrew (Randi) Warmath, Sarah Warmath (Reza) Rabiee, John (Ashley) Warmath, Shelby Glisson (Taylor) Strong, Abby Glisson (Mitch) Dumas and Sadie (Cody) Ray; and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Sue Lamb Warmath; two sisters, Elaine and Carolyn; two brothers, Bill and James; and his parents, C. T. and Margaret Holloway Warmath.
Funeral services for Mr. Ray C. Warmath will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. Joel Crider and Randy Warmath will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.
His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the funeral home.
