Norma Warmath Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home on Feb. 25, 2026.
Norma Jane Warmath, of Paragould, Arkansas, formerly of Piggott, Arkansas, left her earthly body on February 24, 2026 at the age of 90 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

If she could, she would tell you she had a long life full of love. Her son and his sons were the light of her life. She was the world's best Mimi, a job she took so seriously, that she moved to Paragould to live three houses down from them. To say her boys beat a path back-and-forth to her house would be an understatement. She was always there to give a hug, dry a tear or bandage a knee. Her grandsons are well known rascals and more often than not she was in the middle of the shenanigans. When complimented on her sons, her daughter-in-law, Kimberly, would always say that it took a village and that village was Mimi.
Norma was born on July 3, 1935 to Norman and Sadie Vancil in Piggott, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Billie Jean Warmath, on May 10, 1953. She was working as an usher at the Carolyn Theater in Piggott, and after showing him to his seat, she decided to keep him on a permanent basis. They were married for over 66 years before he passed away. Together, they had one son, Allen L. Warmath, whom she spoiled rotten before turning her attention to her grandsons. She accomplished this task with grace and aplomb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie and her sister, Neva Jo Tanner. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Pat Tanner, Royce Williams and H. A. Wellman. She is survived by her son, Allen and his wife, Kimberly, and their four sons, Nathaniel "Nathan" (Katy) of Bangor, Maine; Lieutenant Levi Warmath of Springfield, Missouri; and Noah and Jonah of Paragould, Arkansas; and two precious great grandchildren, Aidan and Harper of Bangor, Maine. She is also survived by her sisters, June Williams and Janet Wellman of Piggott and a host of nieces and nephews that will greatly miss their Aunt Janie.
The family wishes to say a special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Janie Brewer. She facilitated Norma to be able to remain in her own home her final two years. She became a family member to us all and rarely when speaking with Norma did she fail to mention how much she loved Janie.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Piggott Cemetery with Reverend Duane Dutka officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of arrangements.
