Nate Warmath Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel on Dec. 1, 2024.
Nathan "Nate" Jordan Warmath unexpectedly passed away on November 2, 2024. His death has made many realize how short life really is and how important your people and the moments that you share with them are all that truly matter. He was born on July 10, 1982 in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Lexington High School, where he also met his wife of 21 years; his high school sweetheart, Stephanie. Nate signed with the United States Marine Corps in August 2001, right before 9/11, and after that he knew that his life would never be the same. But his dedication and tenacity never let it break him.
During his 6 years of service in the USMC, he did a tour in Iraq for 10 months. That is where he acquired the nickname 'Wardog' and it stuck with him ever since. After taking a few years off from the military to start a family, he soon had the itch to serve again. He compromised with his wife and joined the Air National Guard in December of 2010, with the ambition to become a firefighter. He never questioned his abilities to do anything. If he had it on his mind that he wanted to do something, he went for it. During the next several years, while serving in the ANG, he took both city and state jobs as a firefighter. He did two more tours, with the ANG, in both Kuwait and Jordan. After an injury in Jordan, he was forced to medically retire from the military in 2018. Roofing was also his passion and income, even after the military life was done, and where he met more friends that became family.
There are too many words that describe who Nate was, but if you boiled it down to one word it would be love. He showed it with his steadfast dedication for his wife and children. But there wasn't one person that he wouldn't be there for, and without hesitation. No one was a stranger to him; everyone was a 'best' friend or a brother. He was a realist and wore his heart on his sleeve, sometimes to a fault, but would always be honest with you. His love, drive, and presence was known to his wife and kids, whether it was working, house work, taking care of the kids, or life lessons (he always had life lessons for them and their friends). He lived his life and did everything for them; they were his life. He was fierce whether it was fighting for his country, proving his strength, or hugging you so tight that you couldn't breathe. In his own words, he "lived life hard," but not without love.
Nate is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Maurer) Warmath whom he married on February 10, 2003; 5 children, Kylee, Cole, Brooklyn, Natalia, and Savannah Warmath; his older brother Adam (Abby) Warmath and twin brother Nick (Morgan) Warmath; his nieces and nephews, Jordan, Cooper, Xavier, Vada, Hudson, and Lawsyn Warmath; numerous extended family: including in-laws who were his parents, Kim and Ruth Maurer, brothers and sisters, and 12 more nieces and nephews. He loved not only his babies, but all of the babies! He made most of the kids cry, but we'd laugh when "Uncle Nate" was all of their favorite.
Nate is preceded in death by his mother, Judith Yankovich, and many military brothers. You always think that you have more time, until you don't so in his words please "Love Big and Love Hard." His kids will carry on his presence, life lessons, devotion, and respect, but most importantly his love. His family is not having a funeral or memorial service, but a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, Mansfield, is serving Nate's family.
