SELLERSBURG, Ind. - Samuel Boyd Wright, 75, of Sellersburg and Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away on Sept. 17, 2025. Sam was born in Pound, Virginia, on July 26, 1950, to his parents, Creighton and Imogene Wright.
Sam will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for his family and friends. He enjoyed both fishing and golf in his free time. Fortunately, Sam was able to live a wonderful retirement life before his passing.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Creighton and Imogene Wright, his sisters, Dana Mae Wright, Charlotte Moore and Linda Wright and his brothers, Roger Wright and Nicholas Wright.
Surviving him are his daughter, Brittany (Gary) Nelson; and son, Samuel Joseph (Ashley) Wright; grandchildren, Caroline Malone Nelson, Jack Ashton Nelson, Savanah McCall Nelson, Samuel "Henry" Wright, Lyla Katherine Nelson, and Harrison Martin Wright. He is also survived by his sisters, Naomi (Robert) Beane, Anita (Joseph) Woods and Martha Elswick; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Sam will be buried near his brother, Roger, at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. The visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
