Robert Gross Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Louis Gross. Robert passed on October 16, 2024. He is survived by his parents, Robert Sr Gross and Carmen Gross, sibling Leah Gross, and nieces Hayden and Pili, as well as a large and extended family.

Robert was born in Watsonville on June 4, 1989. He attended Mooreland Norte Dame and Watsonville High School. Throughout high school, Robert enjoyed playing Water Polo and Lacrosse for Watsonville High. He was also actively involved in 4H and was an FFA member, raising and selling pigs. One of his most beloved animals in 4H was his dear pig, "Porky."

After high school, Robert joined the military, serving in the Air Force from 2009 to 2017. He served with the Military Police, being stationed at various US bases across the world, including Afghanistan, Germany, and Korea. He was proud of his country and honored to serve in the military.

Robert was a world traveler, always seeking new adventures. He was a very social person with a unique sense of humor, always lighting up a room. You knew you were in for a good laugh whenever you saw him. We are grateful for all of the love and laughter that he shared with us. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Please join us in celebrating Robert's life on May 18, 2025, at Anna Jean Cummings Park in Soquel. The celebration of life will start at 12:30 pm until sunset. Contact Robert's cousin Jessica at 831-726-6503 with any questions or additional information.

It is our fault Robert fell in love with Germany. That year of the exchange was a memorable one where we ended up having to sleep @ the airport with all 20 kids - Robert was the only one smart enough to pack a change of clothes in his carry on - he took the whole thing in stride & watching his eyes open in Germany was an awesome gift. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sad to hear this! I was Bobby's counselor at WHS and it was always a pleasure to sit and chat with him and share memories of his Grandma, Ruthie.
My heart goes out to Bobby's family and friends.
