Suyeko Eto Obituary

Sue Eto passed away peacefully at home in Watsonville on January 3. She was 95.

Sue was born in Watsonville to Kenzo and Yayeno Etow. During World War II she was relocated with her family to the Japanese-American internment camp in Poston, Arizona. She graduated from Poston II High School in 1943. After the war she returned to Watsonville, where she married Mitsugu Eto on February 12, 1949.

She worked for over 20 years at The J.M. Smucker Company in Pajaro. After retirement she enjoyed gardening and going out for her daily walks. She was an avid Golden State Warriors fan and attended many of their games throughout the years.

She is survived by sons David (Dolores) Eto of Watsonville, Robert Eto of Huntington Beach, Alan (Mary Ann) Eto of South San Francisco, Steven Eto of Watsonville, daughter Shirley (Ted) Tsudama of Yreka, grandsons Brett (Michelle) Tsudama of Manly, Australia and Keith Tsudama of Paso Robles, granddaughter Lindsey Eto of South San Francisco, and sister Grace Honma of San Francisco.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Mitsugu, brothers Hajime "Jim" Etow and Shigeru "Shig" Etow, and sisters Toshiko "Tea" Sakasegawa and Haruko "H" Sakasegawa.

Per her request, no services are planned. Mehl's Colonial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements, with burial at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.

Donations in Sue's memory can be made to the Watsonville Buddhist Temple (423 Bridge St, Watsonville CA 95076) or Heartland Hospice (2511 Garden Rd, Suite A-250, Monterey CA 93940).
