As traumatic and tragic as Aaron's death is, I hope his wife, children, parents, and family will find comfort in knowing that even in death, Aaron is an inspiration to people just like me who never had the privilege of knowing him during his life. His strong commitment to God, his family, his country, and his fellow SEALs are qualities to be celebrated and emulated. At the end of our lives, we all will ask ourselves "Did we live? Did we love? Did we matter?" Aaron will be able to answer a resounding Yes to all three of those questions.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.

Karen,
I am so sorry to hear the tragic news about Aaron. My heart goes out to you for your precious loss. I too, know the unbearable pain of losing a son. It is one of the most devastating experience's a mother can go thru. It leaves you with so many overwhelming emotions! Everything in life has changed in an instant! But, remembering all the wonderful moments you shared with Aaron in life, living, laughing and loving can help to comfort you thru the difficult times. And most of all, may the God of Love sustain you with His promise of HOPE for the future. When He will soon end all the wars and suffering in the world. How do we know this is not just wishful thinking or a dream? Because what He says always comes to BE.
"He will certainly render judgement among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore."
