Family-Placed Obituary

ALZIE ELMORE RAMSEY, Jr. Chief Warrant Officer, Ret. March 1, 1930 - August 11, 2011 Retired CW4 and Chaplain Ramsey (not military affiliated), a resident of West Palm Beach, FL, Passed away peacefully at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach after a short courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. For over 30 years he served in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of Sergeant Major as well as Chief Warrant Officer (CW4) within the Judge Advocate General Corps (JAGC). Upon his retirement from the U.S. Army he immediately began his tenure with the state of Florida by taking the role of Office Manager for the Office of the State Attorney, 15th Judicial Circuit, Palm Beach County, Florida. His final position was at Glade Correctional Institute in Belle Glade, FL where he assumed the role of Chaplain. Public viewing will be on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A homegoing celebration service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011, at 12:00 PM at Schuler's Memorial Chapel, 5301 North Australian Avenue, Mangonia Park, FL 33407. Al, I was saddened to hear that your father had passed. He was a peaceful and wonderful man that loved his family and his work. I am sure all of heaven rejoiced as he entered into the gate. He made it, he ran the course and he kept the faith. He was a christian and a true believer so be comforted because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I am praying for you and your family.
