Barbara Eisenman Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

BARBARA JEAN EISENMAN Barbara Eisenman suddenly passed away on April 6, 2010. She was born on July 24, 1936 in West Chester, PA. She attended Ohio State University and the University of Pennsylvania as an English major. Barbara married Jerome Eisenman, DDC on February 17, 1957 and spent most of her married life in Wilmington, DE where she raised three children, Jesse, Richard and Ronald. She was devoted to Jewish charities, such as Hadassah and was a member of Temple Beth Emeth in Wilmington. She was a skilled bowler in her early married life and enjoyed socializing and playing golf at Brandywine Country Club. Barbara Eisenman was a very knowledgeable and experienced antique collector who owned a tag sale business, Barbara E. Sales. In 1996, she moved to Wellington, FL full time and became a member of the Fountains Country Club where she socialized, played cards and made many friends. To those who knew her best, she was widely recognized for her cooking skills, especially Eastern European Jewish cooking and dessert making. She expressed her love through food and made sure to expose all guests to Jewish cuisine that they would not get at home. Barbara Eisenman was a loyal, honest, intense, compassionate, loving and forgiving wife, mother and friend. She demonstrated the values of hard work, focus and determination to earn your place in the world. She took great pride in teaching this to her children. Barbara Eisenman was the most honest and straightforward person in any room. Despite recent medical illness she appreciated every day of her health. Her loss will leave a giant hole in her family as she was the matriarch and glue that held everybody together. Barbara was the best friend and companion of her husband, Jerome. She was always there for her children as a friend, advisor and parent. She lovingly helped them with any issue that life threw at them. Although her passing is a tragedy, our memories of her will live on. This terrific, energetic, loyal generous and kind woman will be dearly missed in all or our hearts. She leaves five grandchildren, Matthew and Raymond of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Nathaniel, Jordan and Miranda of Winhall, VT. Funeral Services are Sunday, 1:15 PM April 11, 2010 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437. Burial Services are Monday, 1:00 PM April 12, 2010 Veteran's Cemetery on 441. To express condolences and/or make donations Visit PalmBeachPost.com/obituaries
