Benjamin HARRIS Obituary

HARRIS, Benjamin Benjamin "Ben" Hamilton Harris, 35, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, surrounded by his loving family and beloved dog, Obi. He is survived by parents, Dr. James and Joan Harris; brother and sister-in-law, James and Carolyn Harris; nephews, Massimo and Giacamo, and niece, Adelia. Ben, a native of Palm Beach, graduated from Benjamin High School (1999); he later attended MIT and the University of Miami. A perpetually curious mind, Ben was an avid reader who loved to share his knowledge and had a heart for teaching. He cherished his relationships with family and friends, and was loved for his compassion and selflessness. He was a great listener, and always wanted to help others. No stranger to suffering, Ben's perseverance through unimaginable conditions was bolstered by the unwavering support and tender care he received from his mother, his father, and his brother, who meant the world to him. A testament to his empathetic nature, Ben spent the last few weeks of his life surrounded by his family and friends, letting them know what they meant to him, giving them a chance to say goodbye. His loved ones will always remember his hugs, his quirky sense of humor, his ability to expound on any subject imaginable, and his incredible tenacity. Ben was like no other, and he will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life reception will be held Saturday, July 8 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, Royal Poinciana Chapel, 60 Cocoanut Row, Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions by check may be made out to Palm Beach Atlantic University and designated to the Benjamin Harris Memorial Scholarship. Please send your donation to Palm Beach Atlantic University, Development Office, 901 S. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. To give online, visit (www.pba.edu/giving).

"Grief never ends.... but it changes.
It's a passage. Not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness.
Nor a lack of FAITH....
It is the price of LOVE."

Know that many share your broken hearts,
Yet we know Ben is now in a magnificent place, his pain is over forever! His Love will always be in your hearts and the hearts of all those who will always Love Ben!!

You and Your Family are in our PRAYERS!
