Family-Placed Obituary

CAROLYN JUNE HERER Carolyn June Herer passed away on October 10th, 2008 in Jupiter, FL. The daughter of Zelma and Edward McHenry, Carolyn was born in Wheelersburg, Ohio on June 16, 1941, the youngest of nine children. Carolyn Herer received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati in 1963 with a major in Piano and minor in Organ. In 1967, after serving in the Peace Corps in Malaysia for 2yrs, Carolyn married Dr. Sanmugan Paramsothy. They had two children, Sunita Param-Olazabal and Jay Paramsothy. She and her family moved to Buffalo, NY in 1978. Carolyn remarried Mr. Harvey Herer and relocated to Jupiter, FL in 1989. Throughout her life, Carolyn's great love was music. Carolyn taught piano for many years and was devoted to her students. She also played the piano herself concertizing and earned a Master of Arts in Piano Performance from Marshall University. Carolyn is survived by her husband Harvey Herer; her two children Sunita and her husband Jason Olazabal, Jay and his wife Katie Armstrong; 5 siblings, 3 step-children and their spouses; and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to University of Miami, ALS Research in honor of the Carolyn Herer Fund.
