Daisy Starr Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

DAISY T. STARR Daisy T. Starr went home to be with the Lord January 5, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville, NC. She was born on May 2, 1912 in Hamilton, Ontario. Daisy and her late husband, John W. Starr "Jack" of 65 years owned and operated several jewelry stores in Hamilton before moving to Lake Worth, FL in 1957, where they were the owners of Krauss Jewelers on Clematis St., West Palm Beach for 25 years. While they were long time residents of Lake Worth, they subsequently spent their summers in the mountains of NC near the community of Burnsville. Daisy and Jack were active members of the First Congregational Church of Lake Worth where, in 1986, they were recognized as Deacon and Deaconess Emeritus for their service to the church. Daisy was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter G. To cherish her memory, Daisy leaves her daughter, Gail and son-in-law Robert Howell; granddaughter, Sandy Howell, granddaughter, Vickie Farmer and her husband, Bill, and her two great-grandchildren, Monica and Nick Farmer. Daisy's family extends their heartfelt appreciation to her angel caregiver, Diane King, of Weaverille, NC. The family also extends their appreciation to the many loving caregivers at Madison Manor Nursing Center, Mars Hill, NC. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Lake Worth at 3 PM Friday, January 9, 2009. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 1415 N. K Street, Lake Worth, FL 33460. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to: DORSEY-E. Dear Gail, Robert, Vickie, Sandy and Family

This is the end of a chapter of our 2 families' life -long history. We will remember all those days at Lake Erie, family trips to New York, fishing with shore lunches and all the good times we have had as adults with our own families. Dais ( and Jack) had a life well-lived and so there can be no regrets. Bless her and you.

Love,
Jacquelyn

Gail, Vickie, Sandi and family...I join you in celebrating the long and full life that Daisy lived and also join you in celebrating the awesome fact that today sweet Daisy is in the hands of our loving Lord Jesus! Now if that isn't something to bring tears to your eyes, only those are tears of joy! You are very much in my thoughts. Lovingly, Beth
