Family-Placed Funeral Notice

DONALD RINDELL Donald Rindell, longtime resident of Old Port Cove, passed away on Sunday March 19, 2006. Don was born in Evanston, Illinois on March 18, 1920. He graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1938. He began his career with Marsh & McLennan, Inc. in 1940 with an interruption for military service during WWII. He served in Africa with the Signal Corps. He was honorably discharged with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He returned to M&M where he completed a successful career after 45 years and retired as Managing Director. He served as Chairman of the College of Insurance in New York; was conferred an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, in 1974. He remains a trustee emeritus of the College. Don shared a 60 year love affair with Constance Clark whom he married June 26, 1945 in Westfield, New Jersey. They have two sons, Donald Clark of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and John Harmon of Arlington, VT. He also has three grandchildren, Kelley Clark (CA), Krista Campbell (CA), and Robert Harmon (VT). Don loved yachting, fishing, travel and building things. He and Connie traveled extensively. He also enjoyed entertaining friends in their home. He had a ready wit and was always up for a good joke. He was a dear husband, father and grandfather, and a great friend to many. He will be sorely missed. Dr. John Braden will conduct a memorial service to celebrate Don's life on Monday March 27 at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 9625 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens. A reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the American Heart Association.
