Family-Placed Obituary
DOREEN BONARDI STEELE On January 27, 2012 Doreen courageously lost her battle with cancer. She was born in Norwood, MA on November 21, 1956 and moved with her family to Boynton Beach in 1958. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1974. Shortly thereafter, she met and began dating the love of her life, Greg Steele, and they were married in 1978. Doreen and Greg brought into the world three wonderful children, David, Tony, and Nicole. Her family was her everything. She was a tireless contributor to her children's events. Doreen was a team mom in all her children's sports and activities. Above all, she was a dedicated wife and loving mother, and opened her home to everyone she met. Doreen's infectious smile and easy laughter brought love and light to all she met. She is now with her father, Tony, in heaven. She will be greatly missed. Doreen is survived by her loving husband, Greg Steele; three children, David (Michelle) Steele, Tony Steele (fiancée, Stephanie) and Nicole (Paul) Wasko; first grandson, Paul "Trey" Wasko; parents, Tony (deceased) and Barbara Bonardi; sister, Shirley (Matt) Fitzgerald; brother, Fred (Barbara) Bonardi; nieces and nephews, John and Ryan Fitzgerald, Tony and Nicholas Bonardi, Jason (Bridgette) Steele, Danielle and TJ Mariani. Friends will be received on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 3, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach. Those who wish may make a donation to St. Mark's Catholic Church in Doreen's memory. Mom I still miss you so much everyday! I cannot believe that it has been 8 months since you passed away. I still want to pick up the phone and call you to tell you the accomplishments that Trey did and how amazing he is. He is the happiest baby boy! I love you mom <3

Dear Bonardi Steele Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Doreen and Shirley from the(old) neighborhood God we were just kids. But I watched her grow into a Great Mom and wife. always so involved with her children's school and other activities... even though over the years I would just run into her occasionally at Ross or Marshall's she always remembered me and told me the latest thing she was into. another get together at her home, Christmas party and needed another gift. she was always so full of energy and loved to be involved .... I went to her viewing and was so touched my the outcome of love that was represented there. she lived a full life by the love that was in that room. I know How hard it is to loose a mother and I have watched my Dad struggle to continue on losing his wife. I will continue to pray for all of you as you walk this road. as your life has changed you will find new ways to cope and deal with your loss. and there will be "new normals" It won't ever be the same. You will always miss her and wish she was with you... Just know that some day You will see her again, and continue to love one another. and always talk about her. keep her alive in your hearts. tell your children all about her. that is what she would want.. laugh when you remember and cry too! There is no rule book on how to grieve. I have been blessed my knowing her.

My condolences go out the family and friends of Doreen Steele. My brothers and I grew up with David, Tony and Nikki and I have very fond memories of Doreen. She was an extraordinary woman. As a child I played softball with Nikki, and Doreen was always there at every practice and every game cheering us all on. She took great pride in her family and it was truly an honor to know her. I am very sorry for your loss. I know that an angel is watching over all of you and I know she is in Heaven still smiling, still proud and still loving you all.

You were special. You were an insperation to Sherry and I as we began our lives together. You helped us as we raised our kids. You married my best friend and made his life full. As you walked through these last 14 months knowing your life on this earth was short you showed us how to love others and but them ahead of yourself. You were a awesome wife, mother and nana. You left this world better than you found it, you left us with a hole in our hearts that will not be filled this side of eternity. And lastly, my final conversation with you was about how you trusted your soul to our Lord Jesus Christ to pay a debt that you couldnt pay. I will see you in heaven Doreen.

Doreen faced her illness with courage, grace and an always present smile, all the while, giving credit to her family for their loving support. That was her. My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this difficult time. Doreen's smile and caring heart touched many many people. She loved life and her family, that was apparent in her eyes and smile. I feel privileged to have known her and to be able to call her a friend. It helps knowing that she is out of pain and is now at home with God and her Father. I also know that each person she touched has become a better person. She loved us all and in return we all loved her. She will be missed very much.

To Doreen's family......I remember Doreen from high school in her cheerleaders outfit ALWAYS friendly with a smile....I followed her with facebook and saw what a beautiful life and family she was blessed with...your love and closeness was visible throughout...I am so very sorry she suffered I saw her strength and determination to keep going and share all the special moments you all had...I kept her in my prayers and was very sad that she passed too early in her life...... I lost my best friend Friday night. My mom was such a beautiful person, inside and out. I am very blessed to have such a amazing woman as my mother. She taught me how to be a good wife and mother. I am so happy she got to meet her first grandson. My mom had such a huge heart and she gave everything she had to her family. Dear Steele Bonardi and Family,
Yesterday morning when I went out in the backyard I saw more then 100 beautiful white birds on the golf course. They were all so peaceful and calm. They made me feel good inside like God was there. It really was a beautiful picture. The birds stayed there for about an hour in the sunshine. A few hours went by and I heard the news of Doreen's passing. You are so lucky to have had such a great loving mom and wife in your lives for this long. Words just can not say enough.
