Family-Placed Funeral Notice DOROTHY GOLD BROH 89, of the Woodlands Retirement Community, Huntington, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2006 by Rabbi David E. Wucher at the B'Nai Sholom Congregation, 949 10th. Ave. Huntington. Entombment will follow in the Broh Mausoleum in Spring Hill Cemetery. Dorothy was born March 12, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Stanley S. and Matilda Barbanell Goldschneider. In 1919 the family name was shortened to Gold. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Loyal "Pat" Broh and a sister, Marjorie Gold Kabat. Dorothy attended Cammack School, Huntington High School, Marshall College and graduated with honors in 1937 from Goucher College, Baltimore, MD. She worked for a time at Macy's in New York. She was previously married to Bernard Sclove, then an attorney in Charleston; they had two sons, Stanley Louis and David Bernard. She later married Pat Broh; they had a son, Jonathan Andrew. Dorothy was active as a docent at the Huntington Museum of Art and served on many boards of various community and religious organizations. In addition to her three sons, Stanley L. Sclove and his wife Caryl of Glencoe, Il., David B. Sclove and his wife Carol of Chapel Hill, NC., and Jonathan A. Broh and his wife Nancy of Boca Raton, FL, Dorothy is survived by stepchildren, Samuel J. Broh of Creve Coeur, MO and Patricia Bort and her husband Steve of Danville, CA and by five Sclove grandchildren, Sarabeth, Benjamin Tash, Aaron Joseph, Jared Avram, Chad William; two step-grandchildren, Jeremy Michael Bort and Daniel Allen Bort; and four Sclove great-grandchildren, Julia, Rina, Rebecca, and Natale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the B'Nai Sholom Congregation, the Marshall University Foundation or the Huntington Museum of Art.
