Eldon Nichols Obituary
Family-Placed Funeral Notice
ELDON B. NICHOLS Eldon B. Nichols, better known to his friends as Nic or E.B. and to his grandchildren and great grandchildren as Daddy Nic. Born in Ewing, Missouri August 3, 1908 to Alfa and Christopher Nichols. Moved to Delray in 1931 following the love of his life, Maurieta Hayes, married for 57 years. Owned Nic's Barber & Beauty Shop before beginning his business of Nichols Cars, Selling cars, rentals and body shop. Also, Nichols Properties and other land adventures. Nic was one of the original founders of the Delray Beach BPOE #1770. He was predeceased by wife Maurieta and daughter Joanne. Survived by daughters Jackie Schroeder, Boynton Beach, Joyce (Wade) Cook of Olathe, Kansas, Judy (Ron) Palivoda of Boynton Beach. Seven Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Friends may call on Thursday, Nov 18, 2004 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM with a 7PM BPOE Service at the LORNE & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 745 NE 6th Ave. (N Federal Hwy), Delray Beach. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, 1:30PM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach with burial to follow at the Delray Beach Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Community Care, 800 Northpointe Parkway #101B, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 or the Florida Elk's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 49, Umatilla, FL 32748 LORNE & SONS FUNERAL HOME,Delray Beach in charge of arrangements.

Daddy Nic was quite the man. He had a special place in my heart from the day I met him as a 17-year-old girlfriend of his grandson, Nic. Six years later when I became part of the family, my parents were also in awe of this sweet and interesting man. Even though he will be missed I know that he is so happy to be with Momma Nic.
