Frances WEINSTEIN Obituary

WEINSTEIN, Frances
Frances Weinstein, 91, of Bradenton, FL, died Wednesday. She was born to the late Harry and Bessie Bloch of Far Rockaway, NY and received a BA from Ohio State University and a MA from Hofstra University. She married the late Henry Weinstein in 1947, and they lived in Massapequa, NY, before becoming snowbirds and then relocating to Royal Palm Beach in 1986. Fran was an elementary school teacher in Elmont, NY until she retired in 1979. She was an excellent bridge player and enthusiastic golfer, especially after retirement. For a time she served as president of the Greenview Cove Ladies' Golf Association. She also loved to travel, especially cruises, and she and Hank visited every continent except Antarctica. Fran is survived by daughters Susan Gooden (Gary) of Hockessin, DE; Wendy Delisle (Stephen) of Amherst, NH; grandchildren Arlene Bridges, Steven Pereira, Heather Kennedy, Joshua and Eric Delisle, and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry A. Weinstein, daughter, Bette Zimmerman, and grandson, Forrest Sprague. A brief funeral service at 9:00AM Monday, December 28, at Star of David, 9321 Memorial Park Rd., West Palm Beach, FL. Contributions in Fran's memory may be made to Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton, FL or Alzheimer's research.
