Frank ADDONA Obituary

ADDONA, Jr., Frank

Frank Addona, Jr., 86, died December 26, 2014 after a brief illness. Frank was a former longtime resident of Lake Park, FL and in October of this year, relocated to Loveland, CO to be closer to family. Frank was born in Waterbury, CT to the late Frank and Mary (D'Anccico) Addona. He moved to Florida in 1973 and remained in Lake Park until his relocation to Colorado. He was a devoted husband to Mary for 60 years, and a loving father to daughters, Maribeth, Linda and Michele. He retired from FPL as a machinist where he met a close knit group of longtime friends. He will be sorely missed by his lifelong pal, Domenic Mucciacciaro who grew up with Frank in Connecticut and eventually both moved to Florida, sharing in all of life's ups and downs together. A true hero, Frank served in the Marine Corps for one year during World War II, and then went on to the Army to serve in the Korean Conflict from 1950-1953. It was here that he was awarded two Purple Hearts, five bronze stars and a silver service star. His bravery and courage is matched only by his devotion and commitment to his faith and his family. He enriched the lives of everyone that had the privilege of meeting him. His compassion and sense of humor will remain forever in our memories and his absence will leave a giant void in our hearts. Frank is survived by his wife Mary (Falcone) Addona, daughters, Maribeth (Loveland, CO) and Linda (Queensland, Australia), brother Angelo Addona, sisters, Marion Guisto, Antoinette (Nettie) Addona Seduikis and her husband, Michael, and many adoring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Michele, and his brothers Thomas and George. Rest in peace our beloved father and friend. The honor of having known you made each of us a better person for it. A funeral mass will be held in the future at St. Clare Catholic Church in North Palm Beach. The date and time to be announced. Donations may be made to St. Clare Catholic Church.

Dear Dad,

I miss you beyond words. Life goes on, but in a much more empty sort of way.
I remain always enriched by the indelible memories we have made as a family. You and mom were the best parents anyone could imagine. I miss the comfort and solace that comes with the physical presence of you and mom being here with me. I dearly miss Michele, but mostly I miss all of us together as a family, but memories are very powerful, and I'm so lucky to have been part of these special, heartfelt memories throughout my lifetime. I miss you so much Dad. I love you.

Dear Dad, Another Christmas has come and gone, but the memory of your presence looms very large in my heart. You are so deeply missed and they say time heals all wounds, but for me, the wounds never heal. I miss you plain and simple. You were my best friend, and I miss your wisdom and advice on just about anything. I miss sitting around with you on Saturdays watching college football. I could go on and on about all the things I miss sharing with you, but I am so comforted to know you are happy now, surrounded in love with mom and Michele. You live in my heart always. I miss you dad, and am grateful for the love of family you showed every day of my life. You daughter, Maribeth

Dear Dad,
Another Christmas is gone and our hearts are saddened again, but what keeps me uplifted are the incredible memories you left me with and your legacy of being the best father anyone could ask for. You will always be my hero and my guiding light. I miss you each and every day, and even though you are not here physically, I can feel you all around me. I love you dad.
Love, Your daughter, Maribeth

My family and I were saddened to hear of Frank's passing. Our deepest sympathies.

January 14, 2015

Dear Mary,MaryBeth & sister, I was saddened when I read about Frank in the newspaper. My concern is for you Mary because of how much love you have for Frank. The last time I saw Frank was in Dr.Foxs' office here in NPB & Frank told me he had a "hot" date w/you coming up. I know words don't even come close to what you are experiencing, but I know (w/the passing of my father back in 2006) what the absence of the physical presence does to one who loves so much and then it's gone. Frank loved you all very much. My prayers and love go to you all. Take Care, Vickie (from Dr.Fox/Dr.Maras dental office)

My Dearest Darling Husband,
What can I say? For the last 60 years, I have told you so many times each day, how much I love you. I still do. Those 60 years were the best years of my life, and you always took such good care of me. Now my life is so empty without you. As with our daughter, Michele, you were robbed of so many years, but my only consolation is that you are finally out of pain. I don't know how I will manage without you, but our two beautiful remaining daughters are so totally supportive. Still, I am waiting for the day when I will meet you again. Rest in peace my darling. Take care of our daughter. I love you always and will miss you deeply.

A true hero, he would not talk about the War. Two Purple Hearts for suffering severe wounds, Bronze Stars,
and many other awards. He vountered to go back to his Company after being wounded, when I asked why, he said he had to go back and help his buddies. My brother, I loved him so.

Frank Addona is my wife's uncle. Frank and I became close when he visited with us for Thanksgiving 2013 and we phoned each other frequently until he moved to Colorado a few months ago. I knew Frank as a friend who was always honest, selfless and uncommonly loyal and generous. I'm very confident that I am only one of many people who miss Frank and that he is at peace with God.

Junior, my brother in-law;
You always told me you were my brother in-law no matter what. We knew each other since we were teenagers and Junior was the only name you were to me. You were more like a brother to me and you were always there for me and my kids. You were loved by us all. No matter what the situation was you could always laugh and be happy. There are so many people that were waiting for you in heaven that I know you are looking down at us and saying don't be sad. You are with them all now. Always remover the good times. Love you,
Jean, forever your sister in-law.

Uncle Jun,Jun- Always so excited to see me when we went to Florida. Always with a big smile and a big hug! Never complained about his medical problems. He wanted to know all about what was going on in our lives and how the family was. We had so many laughs at his house in Florida. He introduced Ken(not Italian) to BC or black coffee as he called it and my husband was hooked on it and still is. Always had the sports channel on and we would talk about football and basketball. So gracious, caring and loving. I will miss him dearly and he will be sorely missed by the many people that were fortunate enough to know him. But he in in heaven now without pain and with Michele, my Dad and Uncle George and they are no doubt having a great time together.
