I. Simkowitz Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

I. RICHARD SIMKOWITZ "Pops" I. Richard Simkowitz, 80 years old passed away suddenly October 23, 2010. He lost his beloved wife, Marilyn, on October 31, 2009. Richard leaves to cherish his memory son Mark (Tracy), daughter, Aimee Simkowitz-Palm, grandsons, Jason (Lisa), and Joshua Simkowitz, and granddaughter Stephanie Palm. Richard was a devoted husband and great Dad. He was a lifelong Yankee fan, passionate Democrat, lover of music, especially Big Bands, and a collector and devotee of classic movies. Known as "Pops" at Roger Dean Stadium, he was a season ticket holder for minor league baseball, and considered the Palm Beach Cardinals and the Jupiter Hammerheads "his boys", bringing them gum, advice, and stalwart support. He took great joy in following the players as they moved to the majors, and was grateful for the signed baseballs and bats the players gave him every season. A Service of Memory will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 am at Temple Israel, 1901 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Gifts in his memory can be made to the Music Fund at Temple Israel. To express condolences and/or make donations Visit PalmBeachPost.com/obituaries Web #5622374
