Iole Vultaggio Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

IOLE VULTAGGIO Iole Vultaggio, of Boca Raton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, lost her courageous battle with cancer on September 21, 2008. She was born in Ferrara, Italy on April 8, 1925 to Giovanni and Cecilia Trevisson. After both parents died when she was a little girl, Iole lived in Belluno, Italy with her loving grand parents, aunt and cousins Lidia and Tony DeToffol. She spent her youth working with the nuns, serving the church, and chaperoning young children on retreats in the Alps. She witnessed many atrocities and suffered much sadness during the invasion of her hometown during WWII. She gave credit to her grandparents for their tremendous influence in her life, and in spite of all life's tragedies, she never lost her happy and generous spirit. At the age of 22, her dream of coming to America was realized. It was love at first sight when she met Philip Vultaggio, her adoring husband of almost 60 years, with whom she shared everything. Their marriage was a to be emulated. Together, they raised four devoted children, V. William, Cecilia (Egan), Diane (Marshall) and Philip Jr., and worked side by side building two landmark businesses in Massapequa. They retired in Florida, where, together, they enjoyed being partners in real estate ventures in Delray Beach and Boca Raton. Iole will be forever loved and missed by her dear husband and children, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, relatives and all who were blessed to know her. She will always be remembered for her kind spirit, charming wit, great intelligence and tremendous strength. Ciao Bella. Funeral services will be held at Massapequa Funeral Home (South), Merrick Road, on Wednesday and Thursday, September 24 and 25, from 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church with the interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetary, Farmingdale. Dearest Aunt Iole: My heart is heavy, but I know that you suffer no more. You are finally at peace with our Lord, Jesus and are now watching over us all. We will rejoice the day that we are all together in God's heavenly kingdom. Give my Mom, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Anna & Aunt Jo a big hug and kiss from me. I will remember all the fun times we had laughing together, I will truely miss that and you very, very much. All my love, Toni

My dearest Aunt Iola,

I can't say how very Blessed I have been to have had you in my life.
Thank you for the Love you have always displayed to me and how much Joy you have given to my family. We all love you and your whole family very much and we will miss you along with mom and the rest of the family that you are now rejoicing with in Heaven.
My picture of you in my mind is you on the right, mom on the left and Jesus in the center walking down the streets of gold.
