Dear Ruth: Another chapter has ended. Ray and I were saddened to read of Jim's death. We wish you and the children comfort knowing others care. There are so many years of pleasant memories: watching our children grow, sharing in the highs and lows of a lifetime and yes the parties also. We wish you happy memories of your beloved Jim. I know we will.

Ruth--I was saddened to read in today's Virginia Gazette of Jim's passing. He was a great favorite of mine and I learned much from watching him. I remember the time I had occasion to represent him in a little problem in King & Queen County. After speaking with Judge Carneal I asked Jim if he had a certain amount of $$$ with him. He reached in his pocket and produced a roll. I asked him for the amount needed and when he handed it to me he said "Any problem which can be solved with money is a problem easily solved." I never forgot that. I am very sorry for your great loss.
