Dear Gilmore Family,
I heard what happened from a friend who is a friend with one of your relatives in Canada. As a father with a son about the same age as LJ, I cried immediately. My son brings so much joy to my life, and it seems by the entries in the guest book that LJ brought a lot of joy to many people.
I pray for your healing during this time.

Gilmore Family:
I am writing this letter on behalf of your beloved son, Jason. LJ was such a good, rspectful, cheery little boy no matter what. my little sister Zoey, has been in class with Jason since 3rd grade, and always treasured being able to be with such a young gentleman for those wounderful years. Zoey would always come home from school saying how LJ is such a good kid and how much she liked him and how lucky she was to be in class with him and have the honor to sit next to him all 3 years. Jason always held the door open for her, along with the entire class, or anyone else around. He was always giggling and smiling and talking about his A game of basketball. LJ and Zoey would always tell eachother how they want to be in eachothers class for ever and ever. LJ will always be loved and remember and missed. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Mr. Gilmore, you were so very blessed to be able to raise such a great, young man! you did a wonderful job at it too!
My condolences,

There are no words to express the feelings of loss that the family and friends of Jason (LJ) are feeling. I am the Safety Patrol Sponsor at Coral Reef Elementary and if I don’t have the privilege of teaching a student during their years at Coral Reef I normally get to know them in their final year when they become a Safety Patrol. Our school population is one of the largest elementary schools in the county at over 1,100 students so as a result we have a very large group of Safety Patrols supporting our school community and then traveling to Washington, D.C. I had the honor of being Jason’s chaperone on that trip and as I tried to match up the boys with roommates before sending it off for approval it became clear to me how much Jason was loved by all of his friends. They all wanted to be his roommate or around him while we were traveling. When we were on the trip he was a joy I feel humbled to have been a part of the experience that he had while on the trip.
As parents we just want to know that our children have great friends and a kind heart. Jason was just that kind of young man. He had the love of so many students, teachers, and staff members at Coral Reef and he had an amazing heart. He will be missed greatly but he will always bring a smile to our faces when we remember how he touched our lives.
God Bless you at this time Jason, LJ was an amazing young man. .

Dear LJ,
I shall miss you. You always had a way to make me happy. I remember the time when me, you and Matthew would play three way in basketball. I will never in a million years forget the good times I had with you. I also remember when we would sometimes ditch Matthew and laugh. Even though you are not with us anymore I get this feeling the you are watching over us and are still here with us. I will miss you a lot.
PS: Jason Sr. I will never forget the times I saw you and LJ playing basketball. I know with all my heart you were a great dad. I always saw how LJ loved you. He will be missed and thought of always and forever.

One of our children has gone to heaven. We know your smiling with your bright eyes and sparkling smile while sitting on Jesus’ lap telling the Lord about your adventures and experiences here with us. I know you will always remember Dad, Mom, Grandma and all those you touched in your short journey here. We love you as you are part of our family and although we didn’t have the pleasure in watching you grow, we are swollen with pride in the person you became to be. Our hearts are with you as you play in heaven, we will always think you.

Gilmore Family, I’m sorry for your lost. I was pretty sad when Jason died. He was just like a brother to me. We played football, basketball, and tag together. Jason use to come over to my house and we would eat hooter wings that my mom would cook for us and play xbox. Jason always would say that my mom made good chicken. I'll really miss you Jason because you were like family to me. Jason, you will be one of my very best friend forever. I will never forget you.

L.J. was the sweetest boy. He was always at our house, many times for dinner or a sleep over. He always showed respect and always had a smile on his face. My children Matthew and Britney were talking about him all night. Matthew said, he was my best friend, he was one of the first kids I met in Smith Farm. Everyday when my son came home from school, he would knock on L.J.'s door so he can come over and play. My son always played basketball with L.J. and his father. L.J. and his father had a great relationship. We have good memories and we will miss him very much. We will never forget him.

Dear The Gilmore family,
Jason always had a smile on hi face. I might have only seen him 1 time without a smile. He made everyone laugh. He was very silly!! Also, he was very nice.
Love,

Dear Jason's dad,
I'm so sorry about what happened. Jason was in my twin brother's class so we saw a lot of him. His class also went to specials together like music. We also played tag at recess. Jason was always smiling. It would always brighten up my and everyone elses day. He was always so nice and friendly. Everyone at our school misses him so much.
