I worked at Flanigan's corporate office in the early 80's as Kay Reyman's secretary. Mr. Flanigan was always so kind to everyone. Even during the difficult bankruptcy years he was always positive with all of us in the office. One time he called me into his office and gave me a couple of hundred dollars out of his own pocket to thank me for all the work I had done for him. He has taught me so much about how to treat your employees and has been a great influence in my current success. I know he will be greatly missed by his family but also by so many others!!

Big Daddy was like a brother to my grandfather, Ed, and we grew up thinking of him as an extra special uncle. My siblings and I grew up wearing the t-shirts with Big Daddy's likeness and proudly telling our friends about our Florida cousins.
Our hearts go out to Ann and the family. We are sending our hugs and prayers at this difficult time. Megan, Emanuele & Luca

To the entire Flangian family words can not express my sorrow for you. Big Joe always treated me as if I was one of his own. When I was only 15 years old I quit school and started my first boat business.Joe was one of my first customers, He was more interrested in how I was doing and helping me with great business advice than the work I was doing on his boat! His love, advise and friendship will never be forgotten. To Pat,Jimmy,Mike,Mrs Flanigan and the rest of the family please know that I loved Joe and respected him with all my heart. I pray that God helps you all thru this time and that most of all he is now with our lord looking down on you all and his smile is huge with pride of you all! With all my love to you,God bless and comfort you all, from Teddy Jones

My Deepst Sympathy goes out to The Flanigan Family.
I worked for Joe Flanigan for 5 years. He believed in me when I did not believe in myself. When I was down and out, trying to start my life over Mr. Flanigan loaned me the money for a car and a apartment. Without his support and kindness I would not have the beautiful life that I have today. I know that Mr. Flanigan helped many people.
What I'll remember most is his big heart and his big laughter. he was a BIG MAN.
I could never thank him enough for his help, support and kindness.
All my Love to the Family

My wife and I both worked at Flanigan's on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach for several years. Although I never met Joe, those who did had nothing but good things to say, he is an icon in the restaurant business.

My deepest sympathy. I played most of the south Florida Big Daddys back in my band days in the late seventies. Joe was a real gem. I am sure he will be missed.

When I first moved to Florida, I stumbled upon Guppy's in Boca. Since then, I have been a fan of Flanigan's wherever I could find one. Best fried shrimp in Florida.
I even broke down and bought 200 s of stock, just because I wanted to own some.
It is always sad when a legend passes.

Where do I start? A man who overcame both personal and professional adversities in his life and boy could he tell a good story.
I thank God for allowing him to be a part of so many people's lives.
He will be greatly missed by many people including us.
