Beloved husband of Alberta (nee Blaes) Opel; dear father of Mary Catherine (Wayne) Hinnant, Steve (Cathy) Opel, Jennifer (late Perry) Taylor and Carolyn Dempsey; loving grandfather of Michelle, Colleen, Megan, William and Kim; dear brother of Mary Alice (John) Hollander; dear great grandfather, uncle, great uncle and brother-in-law. Remembered with great love and affection. Newspaper ink ran through John's veins and he was writing for the Palm Beach Post at the time of his retirement. I remember John from High school, very nice and a smart guy. He was one of the Brains in the class. Ned Peistrup class or 49 SLUH.
