Family-Placed Obituary

JOHN I. SIMMONS John I. Simmons, our much loved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the age of 86. John was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a WW2 veteran and was a member of the US Army Reserves for 41 years. He was very proud of his service to his country. He was a building inspector for Palm Beach County for 18 years. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing with his sons. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine Simmons; sons Dr. Kenneth Simmons (Alice) of Lantana, FL and Dale Simmons of Hamilton, MT; daughters: Patrice Antony (Layton Milman) of Orlando, FL and Kathleen Day (Pat) of Miami, FL; grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Kristen, Kevin, and Amy; great grandchildren: Ian, Connor, and Zachary. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic church (6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth, FL 33463-7312) on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Internment at the South Florida National Cemetery (6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449) to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church Building Fund. Alan and I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle John, most of which involve laughter. I feel incredibly blessed to have known him, as he is one of the many people in the Risavy clan who has made me feel like I am a part of the family. He will certainly be missed. Love, Jess
