Family-Placed Funeral Notice

JOHN H. STRETCH, Jr. Age 56, passed away suddenly on October 29, 2006 near Tarpon Springs, FL. He was born in Kansas City, MO and moved to Florida with his family at the age of seven. He loved all sports especially football and baseball. He was a great storyteller and avid fisherman. He graduated from Forest Hill High School and attended Palm Beach Community College. He later became a massage therapist. He was predeceased by his father, John Stretch, Sr., of the Water Management District, in 1970. He is survived by his son, James Stretch of Temple Terrace, FL, and his ex-wife Jane Stretch in Tampa, FL. He is survived by his mother Norma Kaywell of North Palm Beach, FL; his sister Carol and her husband, Michael Godby; and three nephews, Henri, Cory, and Kevin of Santa Cruz, CA. Another sister, Jan Bartleson, resides in Coral Gables, FL with her two daughters, Sarah and Rebecca. Other survivors are his aunt, Katie Wood and four cousins of Hastings, MI. He is also survived by three step brothers and two step sisters. He was predeceased by his step father Bernard E. Kaywell. Memorial Services will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3395 Burns Rd., Palm Beach Gardens, FL at 11 AM Friday, November 24, 2006.
