MARCO MUSA Marco Musa, 48, of Highland Beach, FL passed away in his home on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Born April 1, 1962 in Bloomington, IN, he was the son of Mark and Isabella Silva Musa. Marco attended Indiana University in Bloomington and held a successful entrepreneurial career in the optical industry. He touched thousands of lives through his work and inspired countless employees and co-workers to further their education and improve themselves. Marco was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying boating, kite-surfing, diving and more. But Marco's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. He adored his two sons and traveled the world with them. He was a loving husband, a loved and respected brother and son and a true friend to all who knew him. He was survived by his parents, Mark and Isabella Musa of Mallorca, Spain; his wife, Karina Florez Musa of Highland Beach, FL; his two sons, Alec and Evan Musa and his two brothers, Max and wife, Karrie Musa and Marc Andrea and wife, Allisa Musa, both of Highland Beach, FL. I cannot express my deep sorrow when I read the news about
Marco sudden departure. I was thinking this morning about him
after some 8 years since I met with him when I was selling eyeglass frames when he still had all the outlets.
I always remember him as a gentle man, very kind hearted
we always talked in italian and I remember him always very
busy with people visiting him...he had projects on his desk,
his mind was explosive, lot of ideas.....why why the nicest
people on earth had to cut their lives short?
Poor Marco, I want to send him my deepest thoughts....
Best regards to his brorthers...I met with them also.

It is since the "golden years" of Pollenca we do not see anymore and maybe because those were the most beautiful summers of my life that I wanted to leave that memory alive and refuse to accept that one of the components was gone. I remember the beach parties, the nights in the house of Cedric, dinners at home and coco loco party, the outputs with your rickety car with surfboards on the roof ... when I was with you I felt just fine.
Though it has been nearly five years, I still think often about Mark and you. Bye see you Marco

I find myself still in desbelief. I heard about it some months ago but it never occur to me to check the orbituaries, maybe I just didn't want to believe. I woke up today to a vivid dream of Marco, he was smiling, on an escalator going up with his back against it and looking down, as I was on the opposite side going down, he was not alone, and for a brief moment while crossing, I reached and touch his hand and felt he was in a happy place, fue mas que un rose de su mano con mi dedo... I don't know why, but I woke up perplexed, and had the need to look, immediately did so and found this guest book. After careflly thinking about it, I am writing what just happen to me because maybe it means something to you. I feel he is at peace and I have a strong urge to write about it. I am a person of strong faith, and in my brief life encounter with Marco, I discovered he was an amazing, loving and beautiful being, strong soul reflected in his candid eyes, you could see right through to him, pain and sadness at times... content and optimistic last I saw him. My most sincere respect and deep, heart felt condolences to his family. He touched my life as I am sure he did with many others, he always saw the good and the need in people around him, always doing his best to help others. Be blessed and be at peace this Christmas, he never left, he continues to live in all of you. Pray for him always. You are all in mine.

I just heard of Marco's passing today am truly saddened. May God Bless his wife and his boys. Marco, Max, and Marc Andrea came into my life when Eyeglass World opened in Daytona Beach. Marco took a chance on me and gave me opportunities that otherwise would have never happened. I thank you and your brothers for allowing me to travel the country and open new stores. Although we parted ways more than a decade ago the three of you have had such an impact on my life and I thank you for that. In fact every April Fools Day I thought about you on your birthday. I know how close the three of you were and my heart goes out to Max and Marc Andrea. May the Lord Bless all of you and your families!

I was truly saddened to learn of Marco's death. Marco was a passionate young man about the age of 20 when I first met him in Bloomington. HE was very well liked and popular with his peers. The last time i spoke with him was in 1984. I was close to his parents but fell out of touch with this remarkable brilliant family. My love and condolences to all the Musas. Baci da Angela

Dear Marc Andrea, Max, Isabella, and Mark,
I am so sorry to hear the tragic news of Marco’s passing. I know what a strong bond the three brothers had. Things will never be the same for you. I lost my younger brother and then my youngest nephew a year later; I understand your heartbreak. A parent should never have to live through the loss of a child, and as siblings we should never loose one another when there is so much more life to live. You will never get over the feeling of being incomplete. But with time and your good memories the pain will soften and there will be moments of pure joy in remembering the better times of his life. You are all in my prayers.

With love,

Paula Coelho

I heard today about Marco's passing. I am so sorry. Marco and your family are loved by so many and your family holds such a special place in my heart. After all these years, I still find myself smiling when I hear the Wallflowers pop on the radio. He could sing their lyrics well. Marco's smile and energy was very contagious and his heart so fun and kind. God Bless his beautiful boys whom he loved so deeply. Dear Musa family,

I found out today, through our Mallorcan connection, about Marco's passing. My deepest condolences. I have lovely memories of Marco in the glory of his youth in Mallorca. Family dinners with many friends in your house perched up on the top of the hill overlooking Pollensa. Those were evenings filled with laughter, amazing conversation and wonderful food. I remember nights in Puerto where the three beautiful Musa boys danced and seized life with all the exhuberance and freedom of youth. How blessed Marco was to live his life surrounded by a family that adored him and one another and made no secret of it. How blessed you all were to have had him. I am so sorry for your loss. Marco - Vaya con Dios.

Dear Mark, Isabella, Max, Karrie Ann, Marc’Andrea, Alisa, Alec, Evan, Karina and Family

Our earliest memory of Marco goes back to Bedonia and our honeymoon trip in July of 1963
when we played with beautiful baby Marco in endless games with his big colorful ball.
He grew into a lively delightful child who acquired languages with total ease as
the family traveled between Europe and America.
Soon he was the big brother of the equally beautiful Max and Marc’Andrea
When they joined our family in New Jersey, once for Thanksgiving dinner, our Nicoletta became a sister to the Musa boys, and they all shared in the fun of being together. We would often meet the family at Kennedy Airport when they had stopovers in New York on their way to Bloomington Indiana .

Marco carried his gifts into adulthood. His intelligence, keen business sense, language skills, and creative thinking served him well as he followed his dreams. Soon he enticed his beloved brothers to join him as each in turn finished his studies at Indiana University. Max and Marc’Andrea joined Marco in the business venture which was to make each one into a very successful businessman as they collaborated in a cohesive and productive partnership.
Marco worked hard in his chosen profession, but he also enjoyed the sun and the surf in the outdoors environment of Florida to the fullest with kitesurfing and other water sports, travel and also enjoying his own family and his family of friends. Handsome and fit, vigorous yet gentle of manner he won the affection, admiration and respect of the many people whose life he touched.

UNA VITA BENE SPESA LUNGA E’
A LIFE WELL SPENT IS LONG

Marco’s life was indeed long because he lived his life productively, successfully, with pleasure and to the fullest. He derived great joy from being with his family. He was a cherished son, beloved brother, devoted father, wonderful cousin, loving husband and dear friend.
He will live in our hearts and minds through the vivid memories which will continue to enrich our lives.
His legacy will be to be remembered as a good man, and our memories of his life will bring us comfort as we remember him with love. The measure of Marco’s life is the love he left behind.
We share your sorrow, but we have to trust in the healing power of time.
Heartfelt condolences to each of you.
With love from Giovanna and Howard La Marca

Marco,
Thank you for always being so generous to Christian. He traveled and enjoyed luxuries that I could have never given him. I will always remember that. You left behind two incredible children that we will embrace and care for the rest of our days. I promise I will always do what I can to help them at times of need and to just be their caring friend. They are beautiful children. They will miss you forever. You left too soon.

Our lives have been forever changed and touched by the privilege of having known Marco Musa. He was a consummate gentleman and outdoor enthusiast who loved the ocean and all it's fun activities. Marco was a sensitive man who always took the time to listen and share his heartfelt thoughts. His generosity, sincere kindness, perfect manners, and smile will always be remembered by all of our boys. Jonathan was given a gift of a slice of life that will be forever tucked away in his heart with appreciation and deep felt love for his friend's dad, Marco. Marco loved life, but above all he loved his family and beautiful wife Karina. We are blessed to have witnessed firsthand the deep love and commitment he had for his two boys, Alec and Evan.

In 2002 I had the great honor and privilege to begin working for Musa Holdings. Those next 4 years were some of the best and most rememberable years in my sales career. I recall Marco as being a great leader, an extraordinary visionary and a champion to all who worked for him. He had a kind generous spirit and was never too busy to listen. His sincere heart for the under privileged citizens of third world nations who could not afford eyeglasses was evident by his generosity in supplying them with much needed eyeglasses. To all of the Musa family I extend my condolences and will most certainly keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I thank you for letting me be apart of the EGW & LVI family, if it wasn't for you I would have never met my wonderful husband and made life long friendships. May you rest in peace Marco. The heavens have received another loving and beautiful angel.
God Bless and comfort you all during this time of sorrow.

Please accept our sincerest condolonces from the Brandon Team at Eyeglass World and personally from Alcidez "Archie," who without the continuous support and encouragement of Marco and his brother's hard work would not find myself in such a successful place where I am today.
