MICHAEL KILGORE Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

MICHAEL L. KILGORE Michael L. Kilgore, 65, died August 1, 2012 in Loxahatchee Groves after a one-year battle with cancer. Mike passed in the home he built and loved surrounded by his devoted family. Mike wore many hats in his lifetime, beginning in Marathon, FL where he was born and started working at a very young age on his uncle's commercial fishing boat. Through the years he had a refrigeration business and motorcycle repair business. He was still employed by Pratt & Whitney, where he had worked for 35 years and worked his way up the ladder to become an Administrative Systems Analyst. He is survived by wife, Connie; son, Michael L. Kilgore, Jr. and family of Salina, KS; daughter, Mary Deiser and family of St. Joe, MO; sister, Mary Ann Kilgore of West Palm Beach, and beloved niece, Kimberley Bolton and husband, Jonathan of Royal Palm Beach. Also surviving are three devoted step-children, Richard Mills, Russell Mills and Randie Scott, several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was very fond of his extended family in Connecticut and loved spending time there playing golf and fishing. A Memorial Service for Mike will be held on Sunday, August 5 at 3:00 PM at the Palms West Funeral Parlor in Royal Palm Beach. Mike was a true friend. He will always be remembered by his friends that raced for him from his K.T.M.Shop.The motorcycle world will remember Mike as an owner/racer. His many friends at Pratt & Whitney will also remember him. We are truly sorry for the loss and our thoughts are with his family.

Mike worked for me when I was the Supervisor for HVAC in Florida. Mike had a duel roll at that time for he was also the Union Representative for our group. It was not often but when issues came up Mike could change hats and fight for what he thought was right for his fellow bargaining unit employee. Instead of butting heads we always seemed to work out a solution agreeable to both of us. Mike was a whiz with computers and I went to him many times with problems that he always seemed to work out. To Mike's family, I am sorry for your loss.
