Michael McGRATH Obituary
Michael Thomas McGrath, 72, of Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of West Palm Beach, FL and Easton, PA passed away at home on Friday, April 29, 2016. He was born in Easton, PA on October 18, 1943 to James McGrath and Florence O'Brien McGrath. Michael was a 1961 graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School in Bethlehem Township and served in the US Navy following his graduation. After working at Industrial Engraving of Easton, Michael worked for the Lutheran Home of Topton where he developed a passion for helping teens. He continued this path in Florida by working as an Adolescent Counselor for Dr. T.J. Kelly, first at Lake Hospital of Lake Worth and later Humana Hospital of West Palm Beach. Michael loved a good discussion, traveling and games of Yahtzee. He is survived by his wife, Janice Volkert McGrath, daughter JinJoo and husband Toby Berndt of Jupiter, FL, daughter Kristen and husband Michael Vega of Tampa, FL, grandchildren Katie and Tyler Berndt, Andrew and Carson Vega, and sister Kathy (Sweeney) Schoemack. Michael was predeceased by his parents and his brother, James McGrath, Jr. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cardinal Newman High School, 512 Spencer Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33409.

Growing up on Lehigh St in Easton, Pa in the 50's & 60's as Mike's neighbor will always be a memory I'll have forever. Our families had some good times. Rest in peace. Fran Aiello ( Lopatcong NJ )
