Morty SHOR Obituary
Of West Palm Beach, Florida passed on August 30, 2016 at the age of 93. Predeceased by his beautiful wife of 65 years, Mickey. Loving father of Richard and Susan of Long Island City, NY, Michael and Sabine of Palm Desert, CA and Leslie and Craig of Palm Beach Shores, FL; loving grandfather of Max and Tyler. Originally from East Meadow NY and owner of legendary Shor's Restaurant of Hewlett. Morty had a terrific sense of humor and missed his true calling which would have been Comedy Joke Writer. When he was a young man he wrote a few jokes that were used by Henny Youngman. He was a great father, grandfather, and friend who will never be forgotten and in our hearts always. Richard, Leslie and Michael. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I have so many wonderful memories of going to Shorr's with my Dad and having your Dad tell me wonderful stories. I was fortunate to see your Mom
And Dad together a few years ago when I took my Dad, Howard to meet them for lunch in Palm Beach. Your mom was as beautiful as I always remembered her- and your Dad as handsome and charming. My dad and yours were friends since High School and had a lifetime of memories! i am so happy they always remained so close. I am saddened to know this chapter has closed. My thoughts are with you.

It is with great sadness that I see this. I first met Morty and his late wife Mickey in 1976 when my Chief of Breast Surgery in New York referred her to me for a problem. We became close from that moment on over all these years in Palm beach. I just, maybe 4 months ago, saw Morty in Publix with an aide andf we chatted and he remembered me and our closeness. I grew up in Long Island and knew "Shor's" very well. He also knew my late Mother from The Sands BeachClub.
