Murray ROTHSTEIN Obituary

ROTHSTEIN, Murray Murray Rothstein, of Palm Beach, FL, and previously of Oakland, NJ, passed away on August 1, 2018. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Murray graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and City College of New York. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Murray had a successful career as an industrial engineer and for many years was the Vice President of Manufacturing for H.J. Stotter, Inc. He was involved in many charitable organizations, including the ALS Association, and he served on the board of The Eagles Wings Foundation. In addition to being a competitive bridge player and a tireless campaigner for the candidates and issues that mattered to him, Murray was a lifelong student. He cherished learning, and his interests ranged far and wide. Murray was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warm and caring nature will always be remembered. Murray lived his life with integrity and respect for all people. He loved his family with all his heart and always provided his guidance, support, and devotion. He will be so greatly missed. Predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Rothstein, who he selflessly and tenderly cared for during her 16-year battle with ALS, his parents Esther and Harry Rothstein, and his brother Carl Rothstein, Murray is survived by his brother Norman Rothstein (Cindy). He is additionally survived by his love and companion of 23 years Jan Robinson; his children Ilyse Rothstein, Robert Rothstein (Melanie), and Karen Karnofsky (Brian); and his adoring grandchildren Matthew, Rachel, Jenna, Jacob, Sam, and Rebecca all of whom inherited his love of spice drops and Jujyfruits. Murray will also be tremendously missed by the extended Rothstein and Hunter/Robinson families. Memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter (http://www.als-ny.org/).
