Dearest and most long-standing and beloved friend of our family's for upwards of six decades, you were a man of many talents and, at the end of the day, a cherished family man who lived and loved life to the fullest for the greater part of a century. I will never forget our many visits over the years -- your exquisite home cooking wafting through the house, black-and-white photographs of trips to Vegas with my grandparents in the old days, your sense of humor and your lifetime of stories. We were fortunate that you were a part of our lives, and you will be missed by all of us.

The world will truly miss you Popie. Some of my fondest childhood memories are from when my parents would let me pack my suitcase and go stay with you and grandma for the weekend. You were certainly one of a kind.I loved how you would cook me 3 square meals a day and would always ask me to eat, just one more meatball, and they were definitely the best damn meatballs.I loved when you would take me for a walk through your garden to show me just how tall your tomato plants had grown, you were so proud, and I would listen to you wide-eyed and amazed.I always looked up to you with such pride.I am so incredibly lucky to have you as my grandfather for 27 years. As I have grown up, I have realized how much I have valued the time we had together. Now you are finally at peace, reunited in love with Grandma.
